Tana Poppino of Big Cabin, Oklahoma fulfilled her lifelong dream of qualifying for her first Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in 2006. She made the top 15 in the world again in 2007, making her second appearance at the WNFR. 2007 also included an invitation to the prestigious Calgary Stampede where Tana and Amigo outran the best in two countries to be named Ladies Barrel Racing Champion, walking away with over $100K in prize money.
With over $300,000 in career earnings, Tana is becoming one of the top professional barrel racers anywhere. Other career highlights include winning the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo in Denver and the average at the ProTour Finale in Dallas in 2006, the Cody 4th of July Stampede in 2007, Buffalo Bill Rodeo in 2007, and the Oregon Trail Rodeo this past summer. Tana finished 8th in the World standings and in 2006, and 14th in World in 2007.
2009 is shaping up to be an exciting year. A seven year old grey gelding, Goose, (Doc Hickorys Cross) will be sharing the rodeo runs with Amigo, (Perryman Star) Tana’s great bay gelding.
